Graves Accepts Job at Birmingham Southern
After a quick two-year stint at Pell City High School where he took the basketball program to new and exciting heights, head coach Chris Graves is moving back to the college game.
“I have accepted a job back working in the college game at Birmingham Southern College in Alabama,” said Graves in an e-mail.
Graves leaves Pell City after a tremendous turnaround. In his first season with the Panthers, his squad only won 2 games throughout the entire year. His second and final run ended with a post-season appearance and 21 wins. They were on the brink of their 22nd win of the season, which would have catapulted them into the Northeast Regional Tournament, but they fell short to Huffman in overtime.
Two seniors off this year’s team will be moving on to the next level as well. Seniors Reggie Mann and Schylar Freeman signed on to play basketball for Wallace State Community College last month.
