Top-ranked Hokes Bluff makes quick work of the 2nd ranked team in the state.  The Eagles downed the Mustangs 13-1 and 6-4 to advance to the third round.

 

Class 1A

*Seth Gordon drove in the game winning RBI in the bottom of the seventh inning in the 1st game.

*Game three is scheduled today at noon.

 

Class 2A

*Game one was tied at 3 until the top of the 6th inning.  Highlights of Game Two will be uploaded momentarily.

*Drew Cofield knocked in three RBI’s for Ranburne in the second game.

*The Wildcats advance to play Mars Hill in the third round.

*Game three scheduled for today at Phil Campbell at 1p.m.

 

Class 3A

 

Plainview      17         6

Wellborn        5           5

 

*Wellborn scored four runs in the top of the 7th to even the score in game two.  Plainview loaded the bases and scored the winning run in the next half inning with no outs recorded.

 

Hokes Bluff                 13       6

Madison Academy        1       4

 

*The Eagles battled back from two-run deficits twice to win game two.

 

Class 4A

 

Saks         8         12

Brooks     3           4

 

*Landry Wright and Caleb Bowen hit back-to-back homeruns in the first game for Saks.

 

Childersburg          3

Elmore County       2

 

*Childersburg lost the lead in the last half inning, but the game was called due to weather.  That gave the Tigers the win because the final score reverts back to the last completed inning.  Game two is scheduled for today at 2p.m.

 

Boaz                   2           1

Lawrence Co.     0         12

 

*Game three schedule for 1p.m at Pirate Park in Boaz.

 

Class 6A

 

Alma Bryant           3           4

Pell City                  1           0

 

*Pell City picked up just three hits in each contest.
